Atlanta - May 2, 2015
Help Us Reach Our Goal of $560,000!
|Our 2015 Walk will now be held on SATURDAY, MAY 2nd with a new schedule, starting with our 1 mile Walk FIRST at 11 a.m., followed by team picnics and food for sale.|
Our goal with a new time is to emphasize that the Walk is a fundraiser. Last year over 50% of the 9,500 plus walkers in the park at the 2014 Walk did not raise funds. The Atlanta Walk raises immense awareness but we have to raise funds if we are to change the lives.
Discover Your Power to Fight Lupus
Every walker is a fundraiser. With every dollar you raise you have the power to bring us closer to solving the cruel mystery of lupus. Unleash your power by raising funds for lupus research and the valuable Georgia Chapter statewide education programs and resources.
Friends & Family Team
Rally your network of family, friends, co-workers and neighbors to walk with you and raise funds.
Where you WORK is the KEY! Ask - you will find many touched by lupus, build camaraderie and raise your company’s visibility.
Create your fundraising page to tell your story. People give to people because they care. Ask everyone, everywhere! Raise funds and awareness and inspire others. Plan a team picnic, bring a tent. In Atlanta enjoy free shuttles from MARTA and food for sale. Join our new Club 100 to earn our official Walk T-Shirt by raising $100.
NEW this year, the free MARTA shuttles from the Midtown MARTA Station will ONLY RUN TO THE PARK from 8:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. bringing teams and walkers to the park for the 11:00 a.m. Walk start. The shuttles will begin return trips to MARTA at 1:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m. from the park back to the Midtown MARTA Station.
Raising Funds Helps Change Lives
Ninety percent of every dollar donated stays in Georgia to ensure the Chapter continues to expand statewide programs and resources including our support group network and nine statewide symposiums reaching seven new communities in 2015.
Lupus is an unpredictable and potentially fatal, autoimmune disease that affects 55,000 Georgians; mostly women aged 18-45, but also men, children and women of all ages. The cruel mystery does not daunt us. We work tirelessly to improve the lives of all people affected by lupus.
Join us in the fight to end lupus!
